NIPPLE LOCK

The NIPPLE LOCK is designed and used to lock on to the nipple of a broken spoke allowing you to un-thread the spoke and install a new one without removing the tire and rim strip.

Open the locking clamp and install the spoke thru the slot on the NIPPLE LOCK. Slide the lock down, lining up the flats on the lock with the flats on the nipple and press it over the nipple.  Close the locking clamp to secure the NIPPLE LOCK on the nipple. You can now hold the NIPPLE LOCK as you un-thread the broken spoke.  

Once the new spoke is installed in the hub, you can turn the NIPPLE LOCK to get the nipple threads engaged with the spoke threads.  DO NOT USE THE NIPPLE LOCK AS A SPOKE WRENCH.  Once the threads are engaged, remove the NIPPLE LOCK and use a spoke wrench to true the wheel.
